I have been an enthusiastic follower of your books and blogs for more than a decade. Inspired by you and your book Trend Following and of course the Market Wizards book by Jack Schwager, I quit my cushy banking job and started out as a systematic trend following trader and investor. In fact I think in 2007, (I forget the exact year) that you had mentioned our style of trading in your website.
I am happy to inform you that we have come quite a distance since then and recently we launched a system based fully automated advisory service for the retail stock investors in India under the name [name].
We were wondering if there is any one we can associate with you and bring the trend following message to India. As you know, India is a great momentum market, and trend following strategies do very well her.

Thank you for your reply. We are an enthusiastic bunch of momentum traders and trend followers in India. I have been hooked ever since I read Jack Schwager’s New Market Wizards in 1995. That and other books including your book “Trend Following” (which I read much later since it was published later) inspired me to leave my cushy banking job at Citibank and get into trading and investing for a living. Much water has flown down the rivers of India since then, but we have survived, some may even say that we have thrived.
India is a great momentum market, perhaps one of the best in the world. However as would be no surprise to you, trend following and momentum is ill understood. Many (including many of the fancied money managers) think that momentum is an overnight and temporary phenomenon that somehow goes away when the sun rises. The ironical thing is that they all do momentum without realising it. A bit like jaywalking.
There is of course a group of enthusiasts and we did have a local chapter of Seykota’s Trading Tribes but that has become mostly defunct now. There is a need to raise the visibility and understanding of momentum in India. I believe that as one of the foremost proponents of Trend following, your role in it could be invaluable.
Could I interest you in doing a podcast specifically for an Indian audience, where we talk about your philosophy, your books and the efficacy of the genre. I have sometimes felt that Trend Following is a bit like meditation. Unless you have experienced it, you will really not know what it is all about. It will be marvelous if the public get an appreciation of that.
Once we are able to generate the interest, we could also look at hosting speaking events down the road.
