I used to work in equity research and was always frustrated that most of our fundamental calls went bust. I am located in Brazil and constantly our local market is affected by politician speeches, volatile economy, external economy. It seemed like that dictated more if I was going to hit my price target than actual valuation. Also we were always looking for excuses to explain why the market went one way or another. A lot of bullshit. Then, in the last couple of year I decided to try a buy and hold strategy, which I thought was Warren Buffet’s strategy, but again due to highly volatile markets and the Corona Crash, a strategy that seemed to be working out, rapidly went bust.
