Trend Commandments: A View from James Altucher

James Altucher gave a nice view:

“If you are even thinking of a career in trading, put down all the other books. Buy this one [Trend Commandments]. Read it. Now you can start your career.”

Thanks again to James for the strong endorsement.

  1. Mike you need a second edition of this book, it has great insights but it’s partially ruined by putting all the little notes at the end of the book, you miss 90% of the fun…

  2. Sure, take for instance the first page of “Wash, Rinse, Repeat”, 4 notes in the first page alone and we have to go back and forth to the end of the book to know the reference and/or context. IMHO the Trend Following book has a much more friendly format with many quotes on the sides of the pages.

  3. Thanks for the feedback. I personally enjoyed doing something different with Trend Commandments–where it was less important to know who said some quotes–but sourcing was there if you wanted to know. Unfortunately, I could see some elements of it being from an American context due to jargon. That said, the concepts are for everyone in every country.

  4. Well, that’s only my opinion, apparently from looking at the sales ranking most people don’t share the same opinion 🙂 I had the expectation – even from the title – that this was more of a book of a compilation of wisdom from great past and present traders, so maybe that’s why I was expecting a better format to read who actually said what. Well, maybe if I had bought a kindle version I could have clicked back and forth.

  5. Michael: Thanks for quoting me a few times, but I must confess; I looked them up after I figured out how to find them.
