My name is Boris and I’ve been listening to your podcast for a while and appreciate all the hard work and great guests you bring to the show.

I live in CA and before you start assuming things about me living in CA, I’d like to mention that I generally agree with you on most topics you discuss, but your Ukraine comments during your latest episode rubbed me the wrong way.

I immigrated from Odessa, Ukraine in 1996 at the age of 18. I still have friends and family who live there, and I have traveled back several times since I moved to the USA. I believe I understand USSR/Russia/Ukraine history of the 20th century and USA’s involvement in the region during the period. I was wondering what is your reference, experience, knowledge on the topic to have such a strong negative opinion against supporting Ukraine in this evil war with Russia for its physical existence and freedoms we enjoy in the West? I’d like to understand why you think you are an expert on the subject to telegraph your “convincing” rant while asking people to exercise critical thinking? What’s the reason you insult the Ukrainian president for working in the entertainment industry before becoming a president and then referencing Ronald Reagan 5 minutes later?

You are clearly not an expert on the subject and I would appreciate it if you stick to the topics you excel and understand or have a slight knowledge about before delivering a passionate rant. But if you think you are an expert enough, please explain your position more clearly.

America should not have been involved in any war since 1965. You can add up the countries. That’s a very well thought out position.

Really enjoyed the Gervais episode and his research around the perils of FOPO.

His three golfer experiment walk-through especially stood out to me.

The parallels to your TF world:

Piggy in the middle – the local pro is lost, stuck midway. It’s the edgies – public pro and weekend hack less prone to FOPO. Classic saying, bulls and bears make money, pigs get slaughtered.

Over personalising / over identifying with a single trade narrative such that even in the light of new data/evidence, find it hard to change your mind (sunk cost, cognitive dissonance etc).

Outcome over process instead of other way round. Irrespective of context (risk reward, social pressures etc), sticking to proper process (infinite long game) supercedes vulnerability of outcome dependency (finite short game) in the moment.

Just think aloud.

I do enjoy your podcast very much. I don’t know how you research all the material, speak to your guests, record, and get the podcast out all in record time!

I’ve just ordered The Complete TurtleTrader and will read next week. Want to read more about you meeting [name] in St. Thomas as you said in podcast 135. He has definitely lost his way!

I’ve just been approved for futures trading and going through these contracts, they appear to be large. With a small account like mine, 20k trying to keep bet sizes at 2%, would I not get stopped out just on the volatility if I want my stop a decent distance away.

Just wondering if your system will account for small accounts like mine.

I’m a 20-year-old in a 58-year-old body. I work out every day and enjoy listening to you at the gym.

Been trading stocks since I walked into a brokerage in the 70’s and set up an account in elementary school. Only to do the math and figure out I just paid 60% in commissions.
