Hi Michael,
My biggest challenge has always been patience. Not being able to be patient enough to wait for the right moment and presuming all the time that market would go in a certain direction before this happened. I did it over and over again despite a track record that told me to stop.
Often my lack of patience took me to lower time frames to see more action, and I tell you so many people in various forums on the internet look for signals on the 15 min time frame, or even 5 m. This got me even worse results since it is really guessing on the noise of the market, full of fake directional moves and quick comebacks.
My guess after reading your books and the material you sent me by now is…I think I pretty understood the signal of entry, but I did not get exactly the correct exit point–the moment when we can be fairly sure the ride is over. I hope to get more info on this aspect in your soon following material.

My guest today is Jerry Colonna, the founder and CEO of Reboot.IO, Inc. Colonna is a certified professional coach, Colonna draws on his wide variety of experiences to help clients design a more conscious life and make needed changes to their career to improve their performance and satisfaction. He established his coaching practice in 2007. Prior to this work, Colonna was venture capitalist focused on investing in early stage technology-related startups. In 2002, Colonna became a partner with J.P. Morgan Partners (JPMP), the private-equity arm of J.P. Morgan Chase where he led the firm’s investments in companies such as ProfitLogic Inc. Colonna served as a director at ProfitLogic until its purchase by Oracle Inc.
The topic is his book Reboot: Leadership and the Art of Growing Up.

The concept of trend following is amazing for me. It is a philosophy with practical applications which demands of you to think-think-think, which demands of you to do the the right thing, the hard thing, the simple thing. Demands you internalize that you live in a constant state of uncertainty – and what to do about it.
I decided I want to trade, I want to do it by myself, and I want to do it the trend following way. Your book ‘Trend Following’ gave me the philosophy to think as a trend follower, yet I really have no clue where to start.
Again, thank you very much. You are a sane voice in a crazy world.

I have never traded my own money. I was a private client advisor in Australia (I’m American BTW) for 4 years and that is the extent of my trading. Though I have been aware of the Turtles for a long time and I know that my successful friends who trade are all trend traders except for one guy who worked trading options in the pits on the floor of NYSE. But I am eager to learn trend trading.

Hi Micheal,
My goal is to get a Sailboat in the Caribbean to have my own personal oasis from it all.
Biggest Challenge: missing the human connection that solo electronic trading sometimes brings. In the next few years I’m going to build a team around me to combat that.
