“Relative strength is not trend following. There’s the tip of the day…”

I’ve been trend-following for the last couple months with futures and sectors with a simple spreadsheet I made with relative strength between them and above EMA’s as a filter, but I’m getting really chopped up. I’ve lost way more than your Flagship offering so far, even with good risk management in place (based hints from your books). But I’m reluctant to quadruple-down on my losses and purchase if this is just the normal market and I’m on the right track already. Can you give me any hint how your 3 strategies have faired in the last few months so I can compare to my contraption? I admire your books, believe it the theories, but I also admire your genius business and marketing funnel towards getting me to buy “All the Answers” and, absolutely no offense, don’t want to be on the wrong side of that trade either. I am an entrepreneurial fund manager, who has climbed a rocky ride with ups and downs. Had a great start and scaled too fast with some unforeseen stress of not having a sound system + having to deal with getting emotions for trading other people’s money.

My first year or two was not easy, but ended up fantastic with a talent but also some luck in the crypto market. I hit the 2017 run almost perfectly, earning an investor over 1000% in one year. I got over my head to say the least, I thought I was an expert.

It was after some time studying trading that I realised that it’s much more complicated than I thought, without risk management and trying all the wrong stuff; I had to make over 20 different trading-systems over 5 years, until I unknowingly ended up with the trend following. It is thanks to you that I have a definition for it, after reading your book.

Long story short, I have got a big meeting in 3 weeks with an institution that will change my business forever…I figured that you might have some wisdom that I have not yet got the time to discover. It would lead me to a marathon to complete this course in 3 weeks, if possible; I am up for the task!

As for my biggest challenge, it’s probably the same as a lot of people– being too quick to bail out on a trade. I’m just coming back to trading after a long time away. There were a couple of earlier periods in my life when I traded actively but I was never really successful. On the one hand, I never let my losers run long enough to blow up an account. But on the other hand, I also never let my winners run long enough to offset the losses and be truly profitable. I was never more than break-even at best. Looking forward to better trading!

Hi Michael, I have been trading for a year now, and I still can’t be profitable consistently, I lost all my money twice, and every time I trade with a demo account, I make a good profit, but when I put real money, everything goes wrong. I am not the kind of person who gives up quickly, and I always say, if it is working with someone, it should work with me. Therefore, I have decided to read more and study trading seriously. I am reading your book “The Complete TurtleTrader,” It is great by far; I just finished chapter 5. My goal is to be wealthy from trading after 10 years. Is that possible? And what do you advise me to do to reach my target?

My books are a good start to that goal. My training too. Jack Schwager’s books too. Resources too. But you have to decide to become you and make it happen. No one can do it for you.
