I am JingXiong from Singapore and I chanced upon your podcast and recently got your book, Trend Following.
In response to your question on the biggest challenge [in trading], I would say it’s discipline. I haven’t recently started to implement some trading rules for my entry and exits.
I would like to start taking my trading more seriously and I think the trend following technique is suitable for me.
I hope to start learning much more in-depth on this.
My guest today is Luke Shaefer, the Hermann and Amalie Kohn Professor of Social Justice and Social Policy and Associate Dean for Research and Policy Engagement at the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan. He is also a professor of social work and the inaugural director of Poverty Solutions, an interdisciplinary, presidential initiative that partners with communities and policymakers to find new ways to prevent and alleviate poverty.
The topic is his co-authored book The Injustice of Place: Uncovering the Legacy of Poverty in America.
In this episode of Trend Following Radio we discuss:
The Great Society and LBJ’s initiatives
Poverty, education, crime, and racism
Economic changes, job decline, and economic opportunities
I just listened to your recent podcasts while in the car moving to a new state and noticed the offer to send you an email for some of your trend following resources.
I manage my own accounts while also day trading futures, with some trend following equity systems. But always looking at how I can expand this to other products/timeframes, so interested in any resources you may have.
My guest today is Kyle Dunn, the Managing Director at MJ Hudson. He is an experienced professional in the hedge fund and financial services industry. He has a deep understanding of hedge fund marketing and brand establishment, emphasizing the changing dynamics of the field. Kyle is known for his expertise in storytelling and structuring compelling narratives to attract investors, emphasizing the need for brevity and engaging content in sales strategies. Previously, he acted as the Director of Business Development for Playground (an Intrawest company), the Executive Vice President of Sotheby’s International Realty Canada, the Executive Vice President of Blueprint Global Marketing and the Vice President of Investor Relations for Second City Capital.
The topic is marketing.
In this episode of Trend Following Radio we discuss:
Brand establishment
Marketing and awareness in the hedge fund industry
Building and maintaining relationships with potential investors
Hope you’re doing great. I didn’t know you until I read the Turtle Trader.
One of the biggest challenges I’m facing is I’m not seeing progress after few years of commitment and dedication. I didn’t give because I truly believed I can become best at it. My style is very similar to the turtles — I take so many small losses and ride for bigger winners. Also I learned my own and just simply reading books and studying successful traders.
Thank you.
Thomas A.
Then keep doing it, but day trading is not trend following.
