Hi Michael, I’m very new. I’m high IQ and high ADD, so my mind jumps all over the place, constantly. So it’s hard to find a good starting point and to stick with it long enough to see it through to the end. I’ve been devoted to trading in cryptocurrencies since February and I still don’t feel like I… well, I know I don’t have a solid enough grasp of a trading system to do well; story of my life. I’m reading your The Complete TurtleTrader, I’m really going to put a concerted effort into getting through it all. I’m excited to read that Richard developed his style from his love of psychology, because that’s my favorite subject. I’m often thinking about what’s going on in the minds of the people (and bots programmed to serve the commands of people) who are moving the candles on the chart… it’s quite challenging to keep in mind, the different personality types, motives, etc. I know I can get a handle on this, I’m just trying to be patient with myself, even as the market moves without me in it, for the moment.

You’re getting there, Michael, podcast milestone #1,000 (well, most likely already recorded). Don’t reveal…. I’ll wait, remaining curious as to who you’ve assigned the honour of being guest for that one. “Will he go back to where the journey all started and interview a TF heavyweight, a north star guiding light?” or something like that?! It feels as if it were yesterday, a skype call with you (it was 7am in Taipei, Taiwan for me) in Dec 2012. Our first verbal conversation even though we’ve connected since late 1998 or so days (when I was in native IRE terra, then UK, then HK, then AU). You mentioned 2013 would be a seachange for you… thinking of launching a podcast and moving to Asia for ‘a few months’. I laughed telling you that wouldn’t be a short visit – far from it – and that this was to be a great move. You’ve come a long way – ever adapting, evolving, honing your work and how it’s presented. A hell of a proud digital asset you have there. Respect and keep on going strong.

First of all thank you for inspiring me with all your books, I’ve read everyone and I can’t thank you enough for the effort you probably put into them. That being said I’ve been trading futures for about 5 years now and I compete in the World Cup of futures trading. It’s been an absolute battle and I’d rather shove toothpicks in my eyes than go through that learning curve again. Obviously I’m emailing you as a systematic trend follower and I need your help. I’ve worked with 20+ programmers over the years mostly all of them I have found on upwork. Some are pretty good and some are absolutely terrible. I don’t know if it’s just a freelancer thing or I’m the problem, but none of them can build me the robust trading template I need. What I’m trying to do isn’t revolutionary by any means. There’s a trigger, trailing stops, and some basic algebra for scaling into a position. Question: Do you know of anyone or any firms that offer programming services that can professionally develop my systems? I’m not a programmer I’m just the trader with the ideas and I love spending money on talent. Trading is a lonely sport and I don’t know a single person in this industry besides my broker. I would really appreciate an email back or even better I’ll pay you whatever you want for a phone call.

Your best bet is to get into trading app communities like Tradestation or Wealth Lab. No easy answers. For a long time I did recommend programmers who I knew, but those options are not open now.
