My guest today is George Mumford, a globally recognized speaker, teacher, and coach. Since 1989, he’s been honing his groundbreaking performance and mindfulness techniques with people from locker rooms to board rooms, Yale to jail. Michael Jordan credits George with transforming his on-court leadership, while Mumford has also worked with Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O’Neal, and countless other NBA players, Olympians, executives, and artists. Mumford’s first book The Mindful Athlete: Secrets to Pure Performance is a memoir and instruction guide to accessing your inner masterpiece.

Hi,

Biggest challenge is undoubtedly the consistency of both routine and method. I’m basically a breakeven trader, I have some good months then give it all back. Then repeat.

I’ve always felt automated systems would suit my personality better. That said, I’m not a natural coder, but feel now I should learn to code and investigate this area of trading. It’s certainly the area I believe in the most.

Finally got into your podcast and it is great, but not the purpose of this note.

I’m at dinner with my brother-in-law who invests. Proud that he just bought Intel. He was looking at the chart and I audibly laughed out loud. Trend followers will never run out of people to take money from.

Been reading the Trend Following book, but still looking for more to see where there is the conversation on how to identify trends. I am a patient programmer who can stick to a system. Since I am not interested in technical analysis beyond the scope of identifying trends and certainly not interested in keeping up with fundamentals, I thought this might be a good avenue to learn how to trade. Just looking for something more than telling me why trend following is good, I already am sold on that. I need to learn how to identify trends, backtest them, and put them into action when I am comfortable in doing so.
