Good morning Michael,
I am an ardent fan of your podcast. I’ve been trying to become a trader for the last 5 years (with a full time job) and have failed miserably trying everything from penny stocks (Tim Sykes – that is where I was first introduced to you), options, intra-day trading futures with prop firms. Before I quit the trading world for good, I would like to learn the turtle way and see if I have a chance. Could you please guide me if possible on how to approach this.
Appreciate all that you do for the trend trading community.

Perhaps you will find interesting how I came across you and your books. Very recently had my semi annual review with my investment advisor. I’ve been with him since 2001 when I rolled over my 401K accumulated over 26 years working for oil and gas companies and started working overseas. Both of us from Andrews, Texas. The advisor is about 10 years younger and two degrees from Notre Dame. He told me the end of the month he would suggest I put some in Abraham Fortress. I googled Salem Abraham. Read up on him some. He’s also a Notre Dame alum, like my advisor. Watched a talk he gave at an Ag conference in Hemphill County Texas a couple of years ago. He’s from Canadian, Texas. Still lives there. I guess his mutual fund is coming available on Raymond James platform. In learning about Salem Abraham, I came across you and your outfit. So I’m 71 years old and have been retired from the oilfield for 10 years this summer. This trend trading may be something I can get my teeth into, if I am still interested after reading all your books.

Good morning & Happy Sunday Mike!
I do have a few questions:
1. Do you teach which leading indicators to follow & how to calculate their distribution via Excel?
2. Are the modules that are on LEAPs & ETFs, are they on strategies or just what LEAPs & ETFs are?
3. I’m looking to learn how to trade a Long/Short portfolio, I didn’t see anything in the syllabus that discusses that specifically, am I missing something?
4. Are the extra videos in the course, are they just interviews or are they teachings from those traders?

I’m a Financial Solutions Advisor for Bank of America & Merrill.
My goal is to learn how to trade a Long/Short Portfolio of Stocks, Bonds, Currencies & Commodities.
I’d like to start my own firm or fund within the next few years.
I can’t seem to find anyone who can teach me a Long/Short Portfolio.
I see tons of coaches/courses for day trading. I don’t want to day trade.

My guest today is Larry Hite, a hedge fund manager who is credited as one of the forefathers of system trading. He co-founded Mint Investments in 1981, which by 1990, had become the largest commodity trading advisor in the world in terms of assets under management. After forming a partnership with the Man Group in the same year, he pioneered the principal protected fund concept, leading to a number of successful structured products and financial engineering innovations.
