Hi Michael.

I’ve been “following” your work for many years having purchased all your books and listened to most of your podcasts. I consider myself a Trend Follower. After watching the video, I employed one of your favorite mantras – trust but verify. In other words, Take Action as you recommended. Therefore, I picked up a copy of this week’s Barron’s magazine to review its contents. Full disclosure, it’s been a long time since I’ve read Barron’s.

Here is what I found:

The magazine cover attempts to titillate with predictions for 2024 (see first attachment). This includes various market forecasts from six “Market Strategists.” All conjecture on their parts.

Then I looked at the Content page which listed 18 feature articles (see second attachment). I read all 18 articles and with one exception they featured some type of expert prognostication. There was one article about IRA/401k RMD’s which was educational in nature and informative. The other 17, just guesswork.

Finally, there was an article where at first glance I thought might be a reference to Trend Following – Headline “I’m bravely following the bullish crowd” (see third attachment). But alas, it was about the Cloud, AI, Cap Ex, Cash Flow, Earnings, etc. No real Trend Following to be found in the write-up.

In summary, my acquired Trend Following mindset (many thanks to you) allowed me to see that this magazine was just another slick Wall Street marketing tool like the many others which you mentioned in your video. Fifteen years ago, without a Trend Following lens, I would not really have understood that.

Yes, I utilize a Trend Follow approach to my trading and have enjoyed success even over some recent turbulent times. I’m also proud to say that I’ve been able to impart a Trend Following mindset to my adult children as they manage their portfolios.

Michael, as always, thank you and keep up the great work. If you feel compelled to share any of this information, please do not use my last name. I don’t want to get in trouble with the folks at Barron’s.

Hi Michael,

I have read all your books probably 3 to 4 times the last couple of years. I believe in your books and have gained some knowledge but still consider myself a beginner with much to learn.

My first year 2022 trading, I lost money naturally. Wrapping up my second year 2023, I have learned to break even or lose very little and protect my capital but I have yet to make any profit to grow my account. My 3rd year 2024, I’m ready to jump on your Flagship and take full advantage of your training program. My mindset now is to take the final step and learn from you. I believe this will take 5 to 10 years off my current learning curve. Having no teacher and trying to figure this out on my own has been very difficult . I believe having a teacher/coach to learn from and be able to ask questions via emails will be the game changer that I’m looking for this upcoming year. I believe in trend following, I believe trend following is the best fit for me and now I’m looking forward to learning trend following directly from you.

Hi Michael,

I will be honest with you. I didn’t expect to be invited to reply. Most of the time you can’t talk to the person in charge of their content.

So here’s my situation, I am trying to teach my children a process to get us out of poverty. I believe the markets might be the best way to achieve this goal, because the success is based on your work efforts not the color of your skin or access to privilege. I am totally fascinated by your content. I would love to know where you are going to speak next or have an opportunity to listen to some of these incredible people involved in the markets.

I don’t have a lot of capital so I am paper trading and learning. But I’m grinding so I can get started. I work 2 jobs and might have to work 3, but I am determined to make this venture work. Your content makes basic common sense when you look at a price chart and actually see the moves.

I am grateful to you Mike, man I am glad I found you. This is some cool shit.

I would really like to be frank. I give you a lot of credit not ripping Professor Assclown a new one. I’ve seen this first hand when I was in grad school ten years ago. This postmodernist […] is completely cult-like. These people just flip figures completely void of reality to support their story. It’s a horrifying religion that has captured academia and holds no truth. Our welfare system combined with our education system is going to send us in the direction of Argentina. Looking at this as a religion and thinking back I can see why Martin Luther said fuck it and translated the bible. The only thing that makes these cultists buckle is truth to fact. This is the number one reason they are against free speech. In reality, it undermines their religion. The only way you could have brought out the light is probably with a four hour interview going over all the figures in their entirety, with help from a polygrapher, and a non captured statistician. These people are professional liars. If I told you all the bullshit they’re pushing in grad school it would blow your mind. I could go on and on but I don’t want to bore you. I hope to do the expat thing myself in the near future. I’m ex military and well traveled having visited 29 countries and counting.
