Hi Michael,
Thanks for your email. Trend following has piqued my interest and I’m continuing to learn more through your podcasts and books. I’m also not a techy-programming kind of guy but I started learning more about excel and bought some excel courses that I’ve started working my way through. So thanks for the inspiration on that because I’ve been wanting to learn excel for a while and you helped me push forward with this goal.
I had a couple of follow up questions:
1. I’m assuming trend following will work on CFD’s as it does on futures? Say if I want to Trend Trade with brokerages like Oanda, IG Markets or VantageFX. I’m assuming the principles and results should be consistent?
2. The brokerages listed above all use either MT4 or MT5, which is very popular for trading robots. Can I use MT4 and MT5 programming language to program Trend Following programs and run them in Metatrader? I’m thinking if I can use Excel, then I should be able to also use the MetaTrader Language – just want to double-check before I invest time in learning this type of programming.
3. Does everyone who purchases your course trade the same system/rules? Are they getting the same results? Where does the customization come into play, and how does that affect the results?

1. Why CFDs? Read.
2. On software? Read. Trend following rules can be used on Excel.
3. People are not robots. Differing results will come from entry, risk management and portfolio selection variation. That’s normal. Big picture results will be similar, but this is not thousands of people trading the exact same rules at the exact same moment.
