I have been trading CFD for the last ~5years out of New Zealand and the biggest challenge for me is finding a system with edge and really having conviction in it. That being said, I have become more profitable, consistent, and confident over time. My bread and butter at the moment is swing trading small/micro cap US stocks with news catalyst – 100% on the long side. As I become more proficient with this setup, I am looking to add depth and experiment with new setups so that I am prepared for changing market conditions. Trend following is definitely an alternative way to engage with the market and I think it’ll fundamentally change my mindset about trading – for the better.
