“I have read over 20 investment books, followed many podcasts, taken courses and still have not been successful…”

Feedback in:

Michael,

I have read over 20 investment books, followed many podcasts, taken courses and still have not been successful. In fact I have lost over 50k in 4 years. However, I have a passion for learning the stock market and enjoy trading. It’s why I jump out of bed each morning before the markets open.

So here is my question. I have many large positions such as GE and gold mining stocks. I started as a value investor and now believe in and enjoy trend trading. Do I simply exit my value investing losing positions of which many such as GE are down 40+ percent down to reinvestment this money as a trend trader?

Question two, I have a hard time with where to put my stop loss. Below consolidation and moving average or 6-8 % stop loss?

I truly thank you for your help and response to this message.

Best regards
Bob R.

I don’t like the piecemeal approach here.

Your first step is to decide what strategy that you want to employ.

Trend following is an option.
