I am a long-time listener of your podcast and have read two of your books: ‘The Complete Turtle Trader’ and ‘Trend Following Mindset’. Both are 5-star, terrific books. ‘The Complete Turtle Trader’ being one of those books that I can look back on in my life and remember exactly what I was doing and what was going on in my life as I read it. And, more importantly can tell the difference in my life since reading it. A few minutes ago I finished your latest podcast ‘Amplify the fiction. Hide the truth.’ And I just feel compelled to write to you and thank you. To thank you for always amplifying the truth. Or for just amplifying how you truly think and feel. Maybe it’s not the “truth”? I think that it is because I think and feel mostly the same way. Maybe we’re wrong. Maybe we’re not. But where we are more right than wrong is in the how when we are proven wrong we are able to admit it and move on to what is right without much resistance. Anyway, in a world where there aren’t many of us left. At least many of us with an audience, I want to say again THANK YOU! And, if there is anyway I could be of assistance with any of your work I would love to work with/for you. As an unpaid intern or whatever. Just collecting data or doing any of the tedious, remedial crap you don’t enjoy doing but have to do. I know you probably don’t need any help with any of that but just offering if you ever do. I’m a trader. Have been trading for a little over four years now. I am from a small town in Kentucky so I don’t have a chance of finding anyone around here with any knowledge of the markets or this world at all. Anyway, thanks again for everything you do Mr. Covel!

I don’t know if you remember me from our last email correspondence. But since our last discussion about my trading system plan and reading your emails, I have now seen the downside to intraday trading and the “in your face” common sense benefits of long term trend trading. I am currently reading your book Trend Following and have gotten comfortable with the system of waiting for an entry, placing a trade and letting it play out for as long as the trend goes. Now I have to research the market and find clear trends and entry points as well as establish exit points. I also need to try and save and scrape up some money so that I can purchase your Systems and Flagship program. I genuinely appreciate the email correspondence and your daily emails, they have placed me in the right direction and helped me get comfortable with trend following. Thanks.

Hi Michael,

The biggest challenge that I am facing is that I don’t have a system to follow. All this time, I have been doing discretionary trades which led me to blow the account 6 times till now. No risk management, no entry and exit rules.

I would like to work on building a system for positional swing trading.

My biggest challenge is having a strategy to use. I have been watching CNBC, Benzinga videos and other trading news to figure out how to analyze markets to enter and when to exit. My returns have been minimal as I have been holding most of my positions waiting for them to go higher or come back to the green. I recently started reading your Trend Following book and like the idea of not having to deal with the news and fundamentals. Having a set of rules of what and when to enter and exit sounds great to me. I believe I also have the patience for this strategy as I don’t want to be a day trader. I just want to make money to make life more comfortable and support my family going forward.
