I just finished listening to every episode of your podcast. Finally caught up with where you are now. Started probably 1.5 to 2 years ago at episode 1. That’s at minimum 1200 hours of listening. 72,000 minutes. 4.3 million seconds of my life. Worth every second. Very well done. Totally timeless. I listened mostly while working out. Sometimes while driving my kid to baseball or soccer.
Favorite episodes definitely include Larry Hite, Steve Burns, Tom Basso. Among the first 50, I really enjoyed Jim Rohrbach and Mike Shell. I also loved the various psychology-based episodes, particularly the sports psychologists you’ve had on. I’ll listen for as long as you keep going.
My main takeaway is that trend following is simple, and runs contrary to crystal ball prediction thinking. And it simply works.
I’ve messaged you a few times before. I’m the guy who worked at CNN. Was there the last 7 years, through all the bullshit. I recently left, unfortunately, only to run to yet another “the man” asshole. But I am much, much closer to freedom and independence than I’ve ever been. I’ll message you again when I finally do tell them all to fuck off. I know you won’t agree with that to some extent. I can hear you telling me to just do it. I have 6 kids. I know that doesn’t matter and I know it’s just an excuse. I can still hear you telling me to just do it. I’m really close and I will. I am really close and this process over the last probably three years is me doing it. And your podcast episodes have been one part of the process, one part of the longer term plan of getting me to that place of freedom and independence from the system.
