Great interview with Nolan Bushnell. On the topic of education for today’s kids, ponder the question below, and read Supernova Era. 2003 publication, so you may already have read it. Fascinating reading Chinese Science Fiction (soon to be a movie I think). Such a different perspective versus the western and russian authors we knew from our youth.

What if humanity needs to pack 10 years of learning into 10 months for the world’s children, or humanity dies. Can it be done?

Good evening Michael,

I’m sure you’ve seen the headlines, but Silvergate Bank and Silicon Valley Bank (SVB Financial) have been interesting to watch over the last few days.

Professional analysts kept saying the “fundamentals” were apparently strong on both of these companies and we can now see how these numbers were not telling the whole story. These numbers were not to be trusted.

The market price; however, has been flashing sell signals for both companies since early 2022 and has been providing a clearer picture of the market’s view on each company.

Silicon Valley Bank (SIVB) has dropped from around $600 in March 2022 down to its current halted price of $106.04.

Silvergate Bank (SI) has dropped from around $120 in April 2022 down to its current halted price of $2.25.

Market participants using price as their sole indicator had multiple opportunities to make some great money or at least exit before the bottom fell out.

Indeed. You get it!

Hi Michael,

Thanks for the insights. I have been exploring your site quite a bit. I am reframing my ideas about holding periods/timeframes and win rate required to make consistent money in the market. Just trying to get my head around how long the small losses might accumulate before winning trends kick in (based on a comment from one of the Turtles, that they usually made most of their money for the year in 3 weeks) to gauge capital and other income requirements.
