Buy and Hold Regulates the Markets

This email just came across my desk from a finance pro:

Good morning. Just been informed that a number of funds [trend following] are now designated as not suitable for the ordinary investor and any investment in this type of fund must be sign off by the investor that he understands the risks and is happy with them, i.e. you are much safer with “buy and hold” say the regulators. Winton is on this list [not suitable for clients]. Makes me very cross. Grrrrrr. Can explain more if required.

Can I get off record copies with your name redacted?

But is any of this a surprise?

No. Not to me.

The powers that be want sheep. Their laws and regulations drive sheep behavior.
