This message just came across my desk:
I’m a 26-year-old software engineer who, in the past couple months, has recently become a huge fan of trend following trading after reading your updated edition of Trend Following (along with your other books immediately after that).
I’d like to give a big thank you to you and your team for all the research that you’ve done – and continue to do – to get the word out on Trend Following, it’s extremely inspiring. I listen to your podcast as much as I can, and I learn something new with each episode.
After developing my own system and putting it to the test, I’ve come across some recent stocks that, according to my system and rules, I should have shorted. Had I had a broker that offered the option to short stocks, I would have jumped at the opportunity. However, I’ve been using Sharebuilder for the past couple years and they do not offer such an option – you can see my dilemma.
Are there any brokerage firms that you can recommend? Maybe ones you’ve used and have been happy with?
After some research, it seems Interactive Brokers might be a good option given their low commission fees and SmartRouting Technologies. Any advice or helpful insights would be very much appreciated.
Hope to talk to you soon.
All the best,
IB are a respected operation. There are others of course. But is broker the real issue in successful trading?
