I’m deeply enjoying the fifth edition of Trend Following. Through many, if not all, of the interviews with the legend trend followers they make clear that they trade 100% systematically and mechanically. So does this mean that their computer, through an algo with all of their rules, takes all of their trades? And if that’s the case, what then are they left to do if the computer is basically doing their job?
Of course, the world is not perfect, a computer could break, bad code, etc. And new markets come online–which means new opportunities. Also, you will be checking correlation every year. Could all of this be automated?
